PHYTOCOPY® is a novel rooting compound gel which accelerates root induction in cuttings using cutting edge, research proven scientific strategies not only in its active agents but also in its formulation.
It represents the last decade of innovative research combined in one product. It is an improvement on market leading root hormone compounds for the following reasons:
• Its active substances include 2 auxins. Auxins are plant hormones which signal cells inside the cuttings to start to form roots. Current market leading hormone compounds only contain the auxin, indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). PHYTOCOPY® contains IBA and another auxin called 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA). This has advantages of improved cloning success as their combined use has been shown to be more effective than the use of a single auxin.
• PHYTOCOPY® uses optimal auxin concentrations for maximal root initiation.
• PHYTOCOPY® uses technology to deliver the auxins to the correct auxin sensitive cells which can be triggered to form roots. These are deep inside the vascular tissue of the cutting. PHYTOCOPY® uses an advanced delivery system (with cosolvents and biosurfactants) which can penetrate the waxy cuticle and outer layers of the cuttings to transport the auxins to these responsive cells and trigger root induction. • PHYTOCOPY® has a shelf life of greater than 1 year. Auxins breakdown when exposed to light and the auxin molecules have been complexed as guests in host molecules to improve their stability.
• PHYTOCOPY® uses proven synergists and biostimulants to improve rooting success. It has been shown to produce root initials (the early stage and most difficult stage of root development) within 3 days in difficult to clone hardwood long cuttings.
• PHYTOCOPY® is formulated as a smart hybrid nanocomposite polyelectrolyte interpenetrating polymer network hydrogel. It is a viscous and sticky gel when not under shear stress and a less viscous and watery sol when placed under the shear stress of being squeezed out of the nozzle of its container. This allows for accurate placement of the gel on the surface of the cutting and an increased retention time of the compound on the cutting.
Cloning success rates can be increased by preconditioning mother plants with RHIZOPRIME® which rapidly induces defensive plant secondary metabolites to prevent root rot.
