Grorox is a safe, renewable and ecological product. It is made with natural clay. It is then transformed into small balls that are cooked to expand and become porous, thus providing good drainage and excellent oxygenation in the root zone.

It is a clean, neutral, light and recyclable substrate.Well chosen, it is one of the main conditions for your growing success in hydroponics.

There are several kinds of clay pebbles: the best ones, among which GHE’s mix, are pH stabilised (do not influence the pH of your nutritive solution).

Before using:

It is important to thoroughly rinse your pebbles to remove any sand and wash off all remaining residues.

It is recommended that you always check the pH level.Put some pebbles in a glass of water with adjusted pH to 6.0. Stir well and let it rest.Measure the pH. If it is high (7.0 or higher), soak the pebbles overnight in a solution of phosphoric acid (or pH Down liquid or powder). Then rinse thoroughly before using. If your Grorox is neutral, wash it profusely and rinse it well.

After the harvest:

It is generally sufficient to wash off all organic debris and rinse well.

Clay pebbles can be mixed with other media too.

There are several possible combinations : in hydroponics mix with pouzzolane or lava rocks; and in soil, mix with earth, perlite or vermiculite.

A great advantage to using Grorox is that, unlike rockwool, it is harmless to humans, reusable, and non-polluting. It is natural and can be used several times, from crop to crop.To discard, it can be recycled in your garden to lighten the soil.
